Role: Creative Direction, Strategy, Design
UGC can be a powerful tool, and customer ratings & reviews continue to be a dominant player in the UGC landscape. In this case, Adobe presented with the ask to assess their existing ratings & reviews implementation, while including a few options to incorporate ratings & reviews in their website testing plan.
Here is part of that assessment—where I suggested 2 possible front-page modules: bold visibility over the main rotating hero image, or sneaked in the secondary (and subsequent modules), both mocked in one image. The idea is one, or both could be used without creating too much effort or noise in the execution.
In the following, the current ratings & reviews implementation on the reviews home page, and product page were assessed, and updated designs compared side-by-side with the intent to improve both scannability and the functional aspects of the implementation. Adobe did not share the outcomes, but it’s a clear case that user experience can be greatly improved by seemingly small modifications and best practice knowledge.
Additional Ratings & Reviews Implementations
Role: Assessment and SOW creation (included spec design work), AD approval (final designs done by implementation designers)
The purpose of these engagements was to incorporate ratings & reviews proprietary software into existing client sites. The main objective was to create user-friendly, easy-to-maintain implementations that fit seamlessly into the site while also employing best practices developed by a large body of user testing.
The assessment of needs, scope, and direction was the primary role I played in these (and many more) implementations, resulting in over 90% of projects coming in on time, and within budget. My approach was less is more; never over-complicating the sell and instead putting the emphasis on client budget, timing, and preferences (aka, listening). Typically hidden technical or internal process or approval issues comprised any roadblocks to 100% success and client satisfaction was high.
